Visa cards are accepted pretty much anywhere that takes credit cards worldwide.
Hotels.com Credit Card Review Highlights
2 Free Nights (Worth up to $250 Total)
New cardholders who spend
$1,000 within
3 months of opening an account will receive an initial bonus of two reward nights, worth up to $125 each. You still have to pay taxes and fees when booking those reward nights, however.
$0 Annual Fee
The Hotels.com Credit Card is
$29.67 per year cheaper than the average credit card offer.
Earn Free Nights With Purchases & Hotel Stays
Instead of points, miles or cash back, the Hotels.com Credit Card rewards cardholders with one “stamp” for every $500 charged to the card, plus one stamp for each hotels.com booking. Every 10 stamps you earn gets you one free night booked through hotels.com. The maximum value of that free night is equal to the average amount spent to earn each of the 10 stamps.
Just bear in mind that you need to earn or redeem stamps every 12 months to prevent the stamps you’ve earned from expiring. Furthermore, you can avoid paying a redemption fee if you book your reward nights on the hotels.com mobile app.
No Foreign Fee
Hotels.com allows you to book hotel accommodations internationally. You won’t face an international surcharge for making purchases at any of the hotels outside the United States, or anywhere else you travel abroad. For context, the average foreign fee among new credit card offers right now is
1.59%.
Up to $600 in Cell Phone Insurance
If you pay your monthly cell phone bill with the Hotels.com Credit Card and your cell phone breaks or gets stolen, you can file a claim for up to $600 in coverage. You will have to pay a $25 deductible, though.
Good or Excellent Credit Needed for Approval
The Hotels.com Credit Card’s credit score requirement is 700 or higher for good approval odds. You can
check your latest credit score for free on WalletHub.
High APR
The Hotels.com Credit Card’s interest rate ranges from
19.24% to 27.24% Variable. The exact rate you receive will depend on your overall creditworthiness, taking into account your credit score, income, debt and other factors.
For context, the average APR among new credit card offers is currently
22.18%. Furthermore, the average among credit cards for people with excellent credit is
