We called the bank and they said we should receive a llien release in 10 days.
We called the bank and they can’t tell us when the lien release was mailed or even processed?
In this technology world how can they be so uninformed?
I was drawn to Truist Bank because I wanted a more personalized banking experience, and their $400 new-customer promotion seemed like a good incentive to give them a try.
Unfortunately, since opening my account online and making my initial deposit, my experience has been nothing but delays, confusion, bank-imposed restrictions, misdirection, and what I consider extremely poor customer service.
I am 64 years old, and I can honestly say this has been the worst banking experience I have ever had.
At this moment, Truist has more than $3,500 of my money that I cannot access. I have been told to “wait patiently” while the issue is resolved, even though the problem appears to have been caused by an error on their end.
The day after I deposited a $1,500 check at a Truist branch in Southlake, Texas, I learned that my account had been closed because of an alleged fraudulent deposit of more than $15,000. That deposit does not appear in my online account, and I never received any notification from Truist that there was a problem. I only found out because I called Truist after repeated attempts to use my debit card were declined. That debit card, by the way, took 10 days to arrive by USPS.
So now I am left with my money unavailable, no clear explanation, and no meaningful resolution other than being told to wait.
I do not know what the next couple of days will bring, but I can say this: the moment my money becomes available, I intend to withdraw it and close this account.
My advice to anyone considering Truist because of the $400 promotion is simple: be very careful. Based on my experience, this has not been personalized banking. It has been incompetent, frustrating, stressful, and completely unacceptable.
Background: My identity was heavily compromised where an out of my state Truist branch on a sleepy Saturday morning towards the end of the shortened workday shift, someone who copied my Driver's License SUCCESSFULLY made not one, but TWO VERY LARGE counter withdraw for thousands of $$$ CASH using my faked out-of-their-state ID and no other forms of ID or Acct details. I know about banking and the training that staff are constantly tasked with. This is beyond unacceptable.
Okay, mistakes happen, someone gets their hand slapped, and Truist properly and sincerely covered that theft after their 3 week investigation. I had to do without that much relied-on money for my needs as a disabled fixed-income customer. So, I decided to not keep too much money in my checking accounts over weekends, take it out on Fridays and redepositing when I needed to pay bills; at least while I regain some confidence in humanity and in Truist policy adherence. I believe the overwhelming number of staff are EXCELLENT, but lazy still infects every business.
So here's my rub.....I get emails now from Truist saying I'm not maintaining minimum balances and deposits and am now dropping in status standing and facing "Maintenance Fees" on all my accounts. Hey Truist.....this all started with YOU !!! I have no issue with putting my money back, but don't threaten me. Give me the benefit of regaining my trust in your policy adherence. PROTECT my funds as a reliable bank should. Fire the employee that is not doing their job would be a great start instead of just discussing it during a brown-bag staff meeting. Don't threaten and punish me after being a devoted customer of FOUR BRAND CHANGES & MERGERS over 35 yrs. (1991). Now Truist has successfully given me the mindset to see who else is a likely Brand to switch to. Good job. Stop letting your computers do all your thinking for you
I stopped using this account about a year ago, so my deposits go to a different bank now. Yes, the account didn’t have enough funds to cover the fraudulent charge — because it was fraudulent, and not my fault. Truist doesn’t care. They’d rather hit people over the head with their ridiculous fees.
Most banks charge $29 for NSF fees, but Truist charges $36, and many of their other fees are higher too. It’s unfair, it’s predatory, and it shows exactly how little they value their customers.
Truist, the bank that doesn't care one bit about customers. After many years now trying to give them a chance with the SunTrust/BB&T merger we are done. Every interaction with Truist is painful and usually ends as a complete waste of time. Last straw, they took 7 days to not send an online check we ordered, made us drive to the bank and get a certified check for our vendor, were rude and then charged $35 to stop payment on the check they failed to send. Shockingly this is a typical interaction, and shame on us for tolerating Truist for all these years. I cannot remember one time where I felt like my bank was there to help me, no Truist is there to make money off you and somehow to be as inconvenient and rude as possible along the way. No more, long overdue, we're done. Would advise NO ONE to open an account with this sad excuse for a bank. Run Forest Run.

How much is the Truist overdraft fee?
The correct answer, Lauren, is $36. You may want to actually know what you're talking about before you post these things. That Lauren person saying Truist doesn't charge an overdraft because they dont put through items if u don't have enough money in yer account is WRONG. Not only did they put through a check when I didn't have enough money, but they actually put the check through a day before it was dated (which...
