I opened an account with them to make a large purchase and pay for it in a few months.
I was able to pay it off sooner, and made a payment in full a month later. They received my payment and posted it to my account.
BUT, they put a hold on my account because they wanted a copy of my bank statement to verify the payment was made. I could understand them putting a HOLD until the payment cleared (the payment was an online payment directly from my bank account). But two months later, they still did not release it because I had not verified the payment.
I have NEVER heard of a credit card company wanting your personal checking account information to verify a payment that was made. In this day and age when there is so much identity theft, the idea of giving out your personal banking information out because it is their POLICY is incomprehensible.
I would give them ZERO STARS if I could, and am urging everyone in the WORLD to never use them or their services.

The biggest problem with Credit One is the lack of customer support and concern for their customers. I recently experienced fraud on my card, and the fraud department did absolutely nothing to help, even though I provided proof that the purchase was not made by me.
On top of that, customer service appears to be outsourced and unable to actually resolve issues or assist customers when real problems arise. Very frustrating experience and disappointing support from a credit card company.

Credit One Bank was one of the worst credit card experiences I’ve ever had.
They advertise attractive terms and bonuses, but once you open the card, the problems begin immediately. I could not properly register my account online, and they never sent statements — not by mail and not online either. The only way to know the balance was to call them.
Because of this mess, a payment became overdue. I closed the card after only one month because I did not want to deal with these games anymore. The account was officially closed on March 23, and I have proof of the closure.
Then, about six weeks later, the harassment started. I began receiving up to 17 calls a day from different phone numbers demanding payment for a “new statement” with added late penalties. The calls often do not even ring — they just appear as missed calls on my phone all day long.
This feels more like harassment than customer service. A closed account should not turn into nonstop spam calls from random numbers. Extremely stressful and unprofessional experience. I would never recommend this company to anyone.

The worst I've ever dealt with bad customer service take out annual fees monthly I ended up closing both accounts after 7 years because I was being ripped off then they didn't even have my correct birthday but still charging me monthly.wanted me to send id to talk to me one account correct and the other was wrong . So why couldn't they just get the info from the correct account ?

Dealing with customer service at this credit card company was beyond frustrating. I called to dispute a posted transaction—something that should have taken 5 minutes—and ended up stuck on a 20-minute call with zero resolution. I was told I couldn’t file a dispute until the charge was “posted,” even though it was already posted on my account. After repeating this multiple times, I was then told it had to be “posted on their end,” with no clear explanation of what that actually means or how long it takes. The lack of clear communication made the situation even worse and dragged the call out unnecessarily. At the end of it all, nothing was resolved, and I was told I’d have to call back and start the process over again. If everything goes smoothly, you probably won’t notice. But if you ever have an issue, be prepared for delays, confusion, and a lot more time spent than it should take for a basic request.

While the two financial institutions are quite different, their similar names and logos lead many people to believe they are the same company.
