Loans are not an option for review, but this one is an exception.
Treated with dignity when I needed it most "Many banks offer good rates to their best customers, but Truist proved they offer something rarer: integrity and respect. I recently went through a sudden, severe financial hardship. I was ashamed to ask for help, but when I finally did, I wasn't transferred to a collections department or treated like a number. I spoke to real people who respected my history as a well-qualified borrower and offered me excellent rates and solutions instead of judgment. If you want a bank that stands by you when life gets tough, this is the one. Truly extraordinary service."

Seems their card alone gets stolen; I use mine for very little and yet like clockwork every other year or so it will get compromised. Lamenting my most recent one a coworker mentioned their family member's stolen card issues were coming from an internal employee. It's not just that. They're just bush-league. Everything about the bank is from 2000. Clunky UIs, unresponsive bankers, I could write a lot of what I've put up with for 20+ years. Oh well, their loss. Closing accounts and concluding business.

Horrible mortgage practices. Every single year, I'm nearly a thousand dollars short in my escrow account. Every single year, I pay the shortage, and my mortgage still increases a significant amount. Trying to talk to them is pointless; this never happened until they merged. Please, people, stay away from Truist.

I called to report a strange email that I had received with a login code that was not mine, and wanted to either check on my account or freeze it. I provided my name, had my card with me, and provided all 16 digits of the card. They had me wait on hold for 20 minutes only to tell me I hadn't provided sufficient information to help and that I would need to call back or visit a bank. I reiterated that I just needed to report possible fraud; I do not need my login. They refused again. I asked what other information they needed to verify me. They said they would not seek any other information. They suck.

It is the manifestation of DEI and progressive thinking in banking, quite possibly the worst in the world. Customer service outsourced to hard-to-understand representatives, US branches run by DEI hires, zero interest provided, and they charge for every little fee. Meanwhile, if you cover any fees at 11:50, rest assured they will not be counted as paid that day, and you will be charged for additional fees. Terrible bank run by goblins, avoid at all costs. Even if you have no other banks to choose from, it would still be better to keep the money under your mattress than to leave it with these institutions.

They renewed a 5-month $10,000 CD at 0.05% interest, down from 4%. I guess they don't want to keep my business.

Horrible bank! Unprofessional team and poor service by the bank and its staff. Do not work with this bank if you do not want to get stressed every time you deposit money. No matter how much you deposit, Truist will always find it suspicious. I deposited my paycheck three days ago before 5 p.m. Of course, Truist held it that time and the message said that if not today, then the next business day you will get your money. Well, I have been waiting for three days for that check – for my salary, and guess what? I call them, and they say Truist got confidential information about your check and will hold it ten more days! Truist is very disappointing. We have three accounts in this bank, and one is a business account, but today I decided to close all three! I explained my situation, said I need to access my funds, and requested they release the hold, but the supervisor's response was only an apology – and no help! I am extremely upset with this bank, its staff, and service. There is no customer support or understanding. This bank is very disappointing. I wish I could give them a zero.

Truist is the absolute worst bank I have ever used. They give you an interest rate, and if you don't renew it when they take it back, you lose interest. It's the only bank I've ever heard of that changes your interest-bearing savings account to non-interest if you don't call and complain. We have lost thousands of dollars with them, plus we lost big when their financial expert said our money would do better if they handled it. I don't intend to write a book with the negative aspects of this bank, but if you're looking for a bank, please avoid Truist; you will thank me. We are moving all our personal and business accounts that we have had with Truist, formerly BB&T. They now want us to pay a service fee on our non-interest bearing account that maintains over $150,000.00 regularly.

I was handling some business for my dad, who was laid up in the hospital with a broken ankle in Lumberton, NC. Since he couldn't remember his PIN, he wrote me a check from his Truist checking account to withdraw cash from his account to pay a contractor. I went into the branch and was charged an $8 fee to cash the check. This was a Truist check at a Truist bank branch! I questioned the charge and was told it was a fee because I don't have an account. I was quite upset and explained that I was conducting business on behalf of my dad, who was in the hospital, and I requested to speak to the manager. I was told that the manager, who was the only one who could waive the fee, was on vacation. When I asked who was covering for the manager, I felt intimidated by three tellers. The situation escalated in the lobby as the customer service deteriorated. They seemed more interested in confronting me than in addressing the legitimacy of this fee. I will discuss this with my dad and have him transfer his business to another, more accommodating bank as soon as he is back on his feet.

Truist Bank closed my account without notice and is still holding my funds. I was given multiple assurances for when the money would be released, but none were kept. This has caused serious financial and emotional stress, as these funds are legally mine and I have no access to them.
If you value having control over your own money, I would think twice before banking here.

They claim to be small business-friendly. When the merger to Truist took place in 2022, they destroyed my credit. I had been with SunTrust for over 15 years, depositing checks up to $100,000, and money was never held. At that time, I was paying lenders off each week, but when the merger occurred, I had a $60,000 deposit. Upon walking in to deposit, I was told I was considered a new client and they had to hold the check for 10 days, rendering me unable to pay my lenders. Three judgments were put on my credit. I have since paid them all off, but the mark from the judgments doesn't come off my credit report. Now, having a company that does over $2,000,000 a year, I can't get a loan. Six months ago, I reached out to Truist to ask if they could help me with a line of credit considering they impeded my credit history. On the phone, they sounded like they wanted to help but kept delaying. They simply don't care about my business. Now you can understand why they have less than 3 stars. Stay away from this bank. They simply don't care.

Tried Truist, they changed the rate on us three times. It's a game they play. Last time, we took all the money out. The last change was from 3.4% to 0.01%—an untrustworthy bank, indeed (who does that?). When we took the money out, they offered the prior rate again; it was like that every time.
Just imagine receiving your statement and the interest rate changed from 3.4% to 0.01%. That's a rate you can get on $100. We went in to close the account at the branch on Siesta Drive in Sarasota, and Lindsey said she could offer us the old rate but never mentioned it retroactively. Truist is a very dishonest bank, and this is how they do it. It happened three times. I commented tonight on their Facebook post offering the 3.4% and shared it to my page to keep track of it. They deleted the post after my comment. I have the records if anyone wants to see them.

If you redeem credits from any Truist credit card for a deposit into your Truist personal checking, savings or money market account, you'll get a "Loyalty Cash Bonus". The bonus could be 10%, 25% or 50% of your redemption, depending on the balances in all your Truist accounts. Higher balances mean a higher bonus. Cash redemptions into a Truist deposit account are always worth more than getting a normal statement credit.

Truist's daily ATM withdrawal limit is either $500 or $2,500, depending on your benefit level. For Levels 1 and 2, the daily ATM withdrawal limit is $500. For Levels 3, 4, and 5, the limit is $2,500.
Please note that withdrawal limits may change over time, so it's always best to verify the current limit for your account. If you have any specific needs or questions about your account, it's always a good idea...
The correct answer, Lauren, is $36. You may want to actually know what you're talking about before you post these things. That Lauren person saying Truist doesn't charge an overdraft because they dont put through items if u don't have enough money in yer account is WRONG. Not only did they put through a check when I didn't have enough money, but they actually put the check through a day before it was dated (which...
No, there aren't any BB&T business rewards cards available right now. BB&T is now part of Truist Bank, so the closest you'll get to a BB&T business card is the Truist Business Credit Card, which does not offer rewards. The card offers an intro APR of 0% for 12 months on purchases, followed by a regular APR of 15.49%-24.49% (V).
To get rewards, you could use a general-consumer credit card from Truist Bank for business expenses. Plus, other...

You can make a Truist Bank payment online, by phone, or by mail. To pay bill online, log in to your online account and find the payment button. Then, choose how much to pay, when to pay it, and where the payment is coming from. Truist Bank does allow cardholders to set up automatic payments, too.
Truist does not publicly disclose a specific overdraft limit. The amount that can be covered by overdraft can vary depending on several factors, including your account history, and the type of transaction.
However, Truist offers a $100 Negative Balance Buffer for eligible Truist One Checking accounts. This allows you to overdraw your account by up to $100 without being charged an overdraft fee.

You cannot apply for a SunTrust credit card anymore as the company no longer exists. SunTrust has merged with BB&T in February 2022 under the name of Truist. If you wish to apply for a Truist credit card, you can do so online, over the phone at (844) 487-8478, or at a branch.
No, Truist Bank does not have a student credit card. Truist Bank does not offer any other credit cards for people with limited credit history, either, which means students and other applicants with no credit will need to build some credit history before applying for a Truist Bank card.
