You can pay your Capital One Platinum Secured card deposit online or by contacting Capital One customer service. Please note that security deposits can either come from a checking or savings account. Capital One does not accept mailed checks, money orders, or cashier's checks.
Here is how to pay your Capital One Platinum Secured card security deposit online:
- Visit the Capital One Platinum Secured dedicated web page.
- Complete the fields on the "Welcome" page and click the "Make a Deposit" button.
- Once your information is validated, you will be directed to the "Make a Deposit" page, where you can view your deposit history, and if eligible, make new deposits.
- If eligible, select the amount you would like to deposit ($20 minimum per transaction) and the type of bank account from which you wish to withdraw funds. Then, click "Next".
- Enter your bank account information, including the bank routing number and account number, and click "Next".
- Enter your billing information, including your name, address, and zip code you use for your bank account. Click "Next".
- Review the terms and click the "Agree" button.
- Review the deposit summary page and click "Submit". A confirmation page will confirm your submission and provide you with a confirmation number, which you should keep for your records.
The deposit is due 35 days from the time your application is approved, and can be paid in installments of at least $20. Once the required security deposit is fully funded, you will receive your Capital One Platinum Secured card in 2 to 3 weeks (deposits can take 7 to 10 business days to process).
Capital One Platinum Secured is considered a partially secured card, as its card credit limit is at least $200, and may be larger than the security deposit. You will need to fund a minimum security deposit of $49, $99 or $200 (depending on the specifics of your credit) in exchange for the at least $200 credit limit.
