The Costco Anywhere Visa® Card by Citi is better for gas purchases, but only if you don’t spend more than $7,000 per year on gas. The card offers 5% cash back rewards on gas at Costco and 4% cash back on other eligible gas and electric vehicle (EV) charging purchases for the first $7,000 combined spend per year, and then 1% thereafter. If you spend more on gas, the Citi Strata Premier® Card is a better option. The card will give you 10 points / $1 spent at gas stations, with no spending cap.
The Citi® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select® World Elite Mastercard® is a good option only if you’re an American Airlines frequent flyer. The card earns 2 miles / $1 spent at gas stations.
