The Platinum Card® will add up to 1 extra year for warranties of 5 years or less for eligible items purchased with the card. The maximum coverage amount is $10,000 per item and $50,000 per year per account.
Here’s how the Platinum Card® extended warranty works:
- Overview: The extended warranty policy will add up to 1 year to the original manufacturer’s warranties of 5 years or less. The coverage begins when the manufacturer’s warranty expires.
- How much is covered: The extended warranty coverage will pay for repairs or replacements of eligible items for no more than the original purchase price. The maximum payout is $10,000 per item and $50,000 per year per account.
- What is covered: The policy will cover purchases made with your Platinum Card® that come with a manufacturer’s warranty.
- What is not covered: Excluded items include motorized vehicles, live animals and plants, used items, and items that do not come with a manufacturer’s warranty, among other things.
- How to file a claim: Call (800) 228-6855 within 30 days of the incident or submit a claim form online. You will need to return a completed claim form and any required supplemental materials within 60 days of the original incident.
