You can use a credit card to pay for Western Union money transfers by phone, online, through Western Union’s mobile app, or in person. Western Union accepts most major credit cards, but it does not take American Express cards.
You should also be aware that using a credit card for Western Union money transfers is considered a cash advance, which makes it a very expensive transaction. Credit card issuers will charge a cash advance fee, usually 3% to 5% of the amount withdrawn. In addition, cash advance APRs are often higher than a card’s regular APR, and there’s no grace period, so interest accumulates immediately. Any Western Union transfer fees are on top of that.

Cash. You will have to visit a Western Union location to complete a cash transaction. Fortunately, Western Union does allow you to initiate the transaction online or through the mobile app and then pay in cash at a participating location.
