Yes, Chase does charge late fees when cardholders don’t make the minimum payment by the due date. Thanks to the CARD Act of 2009, the Chase late fee can never exceed the minimum payment amount.
If you accidentally pay less than the minimum required payment or you miss your Chase credit card due date entirely, you can always ask customer service to waive the late fee by calling 1-800-432-3117. This is much more likely to work if you have a great payment history with Chase, but even if not, there’s no harm in asking.
Keep in mind that you should pay at least your minimum required payment each month to avoid getting hit with late fees in the future. To make sure that you never miss a payment, you should set up autopay for your credit card bill.
Finally, keep in mind that the late fees on business cards are the same as those on personal cards.

I have a PERFECT credit record, not only with Chase, but with EVERY place that I have an account, including utilities, etc. I have literally NEVER been late on a payment to anyone, in at least the last 10 years. My credit rating is about as high as it can be, given my net worth, number of accounts, etc. I just missed a Chase payment by ONE DAY completely by accident, and got hit with a $29 late fee. I sent a message to them, and while I know they have the RIGHT to charge it, I told them that because of my credit rating, by PERFECT record of payments to them, I am asking them to reconsider the late fee, or I will SERIOUSLY pay off the account, close it, and go with someone else. Many others want my business, and someone else will get it. Just burns me that just because they can, even if you have a perfect record, you automatically get nailed for ONE DAY LATE. Yeah, I know, the agreement states it, I should have known, blah blah blah. But I still feel it is just another money-making scheme, and they can shove it!
