The Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select card does not offer rental car insurance. But there are other Citi credit cards that do have this benefit, which covers damages incurred from covered accidents or theft. Cardholders are covered up to a pre-set amount, as per their guide to benefits.
To get coverage, a cardholder must pay for the rental entirely with an eligible Citi credit card. Examples of eligible cards include the Costco Anywhere Visa® Card by Citi and the Citi® / AAdvantage Business™ World Elite Mastercard®.
If you'd like a credit card with rental car insurance, there are plenty of options outside of Citibank, too.

The Citi® / AAdvantage® Executive World Elite Mastercard® offers rental car insurance as a free benefit. Citi AAdvantage Executive Card rental car insurance covers theft of the vehicle, or damage due to an accident, natural disaster, or vandalism, towing expenses to the nearest collision center are also covered. Cardholders are covered up to $75,000. To get the coverage, a cardholder must decline the rental agency’s insurance and pay for the rental entirely with a Citi AAdvantage Executive Card or miles rewards.
