There is no need to convert Citi Double Cash Card rewards to ThankYou points anymore. Citibank changed the card’s rewards program a while back, so cardholders now actually earn Citi ThankYou points instead of directly receiving cash back. But you will continue to earn 2% back on all purchases.
What to Know About the Citi Double Cash Card Rewards
- How to earn: You can earn rewards by using your Citi Double Cash Card to make purchases. The card offers 2% cash back on every purchase (1% when you buy and 1% as you pay for those purchases), plus 5% total cash back on hotel, car rentals and attractions booked with Citi Travel. Cash back is earned in the form of ThankYou Points. There is no limit to the amount of points you can earn.
- How to redeem: You can redeem your Citi Double Cash Card rewards by logging in to your online account either through the Citi ThankYou Rewards website or the issuer’s mobile app.
- Redemption options: You can redeem your rewards as a check, statement credit, and gift cards. You can also use points for travel, to shop at certain retailers, to make charitable donations, and more.
It is worth mentioning that Citi Double Cash Card rewards don’t expire as long as your account is open and in good standing.
