The Citi Double Cash® Card is better than the Costco Anywhere Visa® Card by Citi because its flat 2% rewards rate will likely save you more money overall if you use your new card for everyday purchases. The Citi Double Cash Card also comes with a low intro APR offer for balance transfers and has a higher WalletHub Rating.
The Costco Credit Card still is a good cash back credit card in its own right, with high reward rates in several key spending categories, in addition to Costco purchases. An active Costco membership is required to apply for this card, though.
How to Choose Between the Costco Credit Card and Citi Double Cash Card
- The Citi Double Cash Card is a good option for people who want to earn unlimited 2% cash back, at a minimum, on purchases.
- The Costco Credit Card should be the card of choice for Costco members looking to earn bonus cash back on gas, dining, and select travel purchases.
- The Citi Double Cash Card offers a 0% intro APR on balance transfers, unlike the Costco Credit Card, making it the better pick for transferring high-interest debt.
