To add a PNC Bank authorized user, log in to your PNC Bank account online and click the “My Accounts” tab, or call customer service at 1 (877) 287-2654. You will need to provide some personal information to add them as an authorized user.
A primary cardholder can make anyone a PNC Bank authorized user, as long as they are at least 16. PNC Bank does limit you to a maximum of 5 authorized users per account, though.
How to Add a PNC Bank Authorized User Online
- Log in to your PNC Bank account.
- Click the “My Accounts” tab.
- Click “Add Authorized User” under the “Card Accounts” menu.
- Enter the authorized user’s full name and any other information requested.
- Click “Next.”
When you add a PNC Bank authorized user, they will receive their own credit card, sent to your mailing address, within 3 - 5 business days of being added to the account. The authorized user’s credit card will be linked to your account and will have full access to the account’s credit limit. PNC Bank authorized users are able to file disputes, request finance charge removal, obtain general account information, make purchases, and schedule payments. However, they cannot order or use convenience checks, order cards, enroll in online banking, redeem rewards, request a PIN, initiate balance transfers, close or reopen an account, or lock/unlock the account.
In addition, any purchases an authorized user makes on the account will appear on your statement, and as the primary cardholder, you are responsible for all purchases on the account. PNC Bank reports account information to all three of the major credit bureaus, which affects not only the user’s credit history, but also the primary cardholder’s. Authorized users may be removed from an account at the user’s or primary cardholder’s request at any time, and for any reason.
