You can get a Discover credit card credit limit increase online, through the mobile app, or over the phone. The process is a bit different, though, depending on the card you own.
For Discover’s unsecured cards you can request a credit limit increase anytime. However, your odds are best if your account has been open for at least 6 months before making a request. From your online banking account or mobile app, go to the “Manage” tab, then select “Credit Limit Increase”. You can also call (800) 347-2683 to request a higher credit limit.
For the Discover it® Secured Credit Card, you won't be able to get a credit limit increase. The credit limit won't change until the account is upgraded to an unsecured limit.
The issuer will also periodically review your account to see if you’re eligible for an increase. You can improve the odds of this happening by always paying your bills on time and in full, as well as by boosting your credit score and income.
Discover’s credit limit increases usually result in a soft pull, regardless if you’re received one automatically or if you made a request.
