Cardholders earn 4 points per $1 spent on Southwest Airlines® purchases (including flights, inflight, and Southwest gift cards), 2 points per $1 spent at gas stations and restaurants, and 1 point per $1 on all other purchases.

Keep in mind that no matter how you choose to spend your rewards, it’s always best to redeem them regularly, as they won’t do you any good sitting unused in your account. It’s also a good idea to pay your bill on time and in full every month, so fees and interest don’t wipe out all of your gains from rewards.
