The L.L. Bean credit card rental car insurance benefit was cancelled by Citi in fall 2019, so don't count on this card to cover your rental car if something happens to it.
For a card with rental car insurance, you might be interested in the Capital One Quicksilver card. It has rental car insurance that covers damage, theft, towing fees, and loss of use, plus it gives 1.5 - 5% Cash Back on all purchases. You have to make the full rental purchase with the Quicksilver card and decline any extra insurance offered by the rental company for the card's coverage to kick in.
