The United Explorer Card TSA PreCheck benefit provides a statement credit of up to $120 to cardholders who charge the program’s application fee to this card.
TSA PreCheck is a program that helps expedite people’s way through security at airports. To get the benefit with the United Explorer Card, a cardholder only needs to apply using the card; it doesn’t matter whether they are approved or denied for the program.
How the United Explorer Card TSA PreCheck Benefit Works
- The benefit is available to cardholders who use their United Explorer Card to apply for the TSA PreCheck program and pay the application fee.
- Cardholders can get the United Explorer Card TSA PreCheck statement credit once every four years.
- The statement credit will appear on your credit card billing statement within 1-2 billing cycles after the TSA PreCheck application fee wascharged to your card.
- Authorized users can also use the TSA PreCheck statement credit. However, the benefit covers one TSA PreCheck fee per United Explorer Card account. Authorized users don’t get their own $120 credit.
- If you don’t plan to apply for TSA PreCheck yourself but know someone who will, you can use the card to pay for their application and you’ll still get the statement credit.
Ultimately, keep in mind that instead of receiving a statement credit for the TSA PreCheck application, you also have the option to get $120 in statement credit for a Global Entry or Nexus application. TSA PreCheck expedites your way through domestic security, while Global Entry and Nexus do the same for international and Canadian customs.
