To graduate to a better offer from U.S. Bank Cash+® Visa® Secured Card, use your card responsibly by making payments on time and keeping a low credit utilization. After twelve months from account opening, your account will be reviewed by U.S. Bank. If eligible, your card can graduate to the U.S. Bank Cash+® Visa Signature® Card and your security deposit will be refunded.
What to Know About the U.S. Bank Cash+® Visa® Secured Card Graduation
- Eligibility Criteria: In order to qualify for a graduation, you have to make timely credit card payments and avoid using too much of your credit. U.S. Bank will also take into consideration your credit history and other open accounts you may have. You are also required to have a SSN linked to your account and not have any recent bankruptcies. Other eligibility criteria may exist, too, but they are not disclosed by U.S. Bank.
- Time Needed: Your secured credit card is eligible to graduate to a better offer after twelve months of account history. If it’s been more than twelve months and your account has not graduated, you can contact customer service at (800) 285-8585 and ask for your account to be reviewed.
- Security Deposit: After your secured card graduates, the security deposit will be returned to you. This process may take 1-2 billing cycles.
Please note that graduation to a better offer is not guaranteed to happen, even if your U.S. Bank Cash+® Visa® Secured Card account is in good standing at the time of the review. If you're looking for a better option, you can always compare available credit card offers and choose one that better suits your needs.
