Yes, you can use your Target Credit Card in-store without the physical card. You can add your card in the Target app, and every time you need to pay, you can simply scan the barcode on your phone.
How to Add Your Target Credit Card in the App
- Open the app and select the Wallet tab
- Select Add payment
- Select the plus (+) icon to add a card to your Wallet
- Follow the prompts to enter your card information, PIN and verification code
- Select Save
The Wallet feature simplifies the checkout process, and you can keep your card safely at home. Plus, you won’t need to enter your PIN for every payment as it’s entered one time when you add the card to Wallet.

I ALWAYS shop without my physical card, leaving it in a safe place at home. Just install the Target app and navigate to the "Wallet" icon. Add your card there and confirm it (e.g., via PIN or SMS). Voila! They can now scan your barcode on your phone (within your app) to pay! You have the choice of turning the card OFF, too, so that you can pay via other means when necessary--but still use points, offers, etc. Much more elegant than bringing in your statement!

That actually is not true - they can't look up your card information. The only way you can do it is to have it loaded into the Target app and have them scan your Target Circle barcode at the register.
