Liberty Mutual has rideshare insurance that it offers through Lyft and Uber in select states as one of the rideshare companies' official auto insurance providers. However, Liberty Mutual does not sell rideshare insurance directly to drivers as an add-on for personal car insurance policies.
Lyft drivers in Arizona, Michigan, New Mexico, Texas, and Utah are covered by Liberty Mutual while their Lyft app is on. Similarly, Uber drivers in Connecticut, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, South Carolina, and Puerto Rico are covered by Liberty Mutual through the completion of a trip or delivery.
- App On, Waiting for a Request: $50,000 per person in bodily injury liability coverage (up to $100,000 per accident) and $25,000 per accident in property damage liability coverage.
- Picking Up or Carrying a Passenger: $1 million in third-party liability coverage, plus uninsured/underinsured motorist bodily injury coverage, and contingent comprehensive and collision coverage (applies if the driver has personal comprehensive and collision insurance).
- Deductible for Comprehensive and Collision Coverage: $1,000 for Uber and $2,500 for Lyft.
A driver's personal car insurance policy applies when their rideshare app is turned off.
