SQP points, or Spirit Qualifying Points, are used to determine your status level within Free Spirit’ loyalty program. These points are earned based on your spending with Spirit Airlines. You receive 1 SQP for every dollar spent on Spirit fares and A La Smarte options, and 1 additional SQP for every $10 spent using an eligible Spirit Credit Card.
Unlike redeemable Spirit points, which can be used for booking flights and other rewards, SQPs are only used to evaluate your progress toward elite status. Spirit has two status levels:
- Free Spirit Silver: requires 2,000 SQPs in a calendar year.
- Free Spirit Gold: requires 5,000 SQPs in a calendar year.
Once you reach the necessary SQP threshold, you’ll be upgraded to Silver or Gold status, which remains active for the rest of the year and the entire following calendar year.
