The Bass Pro Credit Card is a good option if you have a credit score of
700 or higher and you frequently make purchases from Bass Pro Shops or Cabela’s. The card is worth considering because it has a
$0 annual fee, gives 1-5 points per $1 spent on purchases, and offers $20 - $60 in initial bonuses.
If you decide to apply for the Bass Pro Shops Credit Card, plan to pay the bill in full monthly. Otherwise, you’ll face expensive interest charges that wipe out your savings from rewards.
5 Key Things to Know About Bass Pro Credit Cards
Good (maybe great) rewards on Bass Pro purchases.
How much you earn in rewards with the Bass Pro Credit Card depends on how much you spend at affiliated stores each year. There are three earning levels: Classic (automatic enrollment), Silver (reached by spending $10,000 in a year) and Black (reached by spending $25,000 or more in a year). The biggest spenders can get up to 5% back, as you can see below.
- When you get approved for the card, you are automatically enrolled in the Classic tier, which gives you 2 points per $1 spent on all Bass Pro purchases (the equivalent of 2% back in store credit).
- When you spend $10K in a year and get upgraded to the Silver level, you get 3 points per $1 spent on all Bass Pro purchases (representing nearly three times the market average for a rewards card).
- When you spend $25K+ in a year, the card’s earning rate moves to 5 points per $1 spent, putting it on par with the best store-affiliated credit cards. It’s just not quite as good.
All non-Bass Pro purchases yield just 1 point per $1 spent (equal to 1% back), if you get the Mastercard.
Unimpressive interest rates.
You should only use the Bass Pro Credit Card for purchases that you can pay off in full by the due date. The Bass Pro Card’s regular APR (
19.49% - 30.49% (V), depending on your overall creditworthiness) ranges from slightly above average for someone with excellent credit to well above the average for someone with fair credit, according to WalletHub’s latest
Credit Card Landscape Report. That means you can do better.
No annual fee.
All else being equal, you definitely don’t want to pay an annual fee. But the Bass Pro Shops Credit Card isn’t unique for not charging one. Retailer-affiliated cards hardly ever do.
Good or excellent credit required.
You can’t get the Bass Pro Mastercard if your credit’s not up to snuff. So if you don’t know exactly where you stand, make sure to

$300+ spending limit.
The exact spending limit that you’re assigned ultimately comes down to your creditworthiness, income and existing debt obligations. In other words, the higher your credit score is and the more disposable income you have, the higher you can expect your limit to be.
