The
Dodge Credit Card is a good card to apply for if you’re saving up to buy a Dodge or you want to reduce the cost of service and accessories. It’s worth considering this card because there’s no annual fee and you can earn up to 5 points per $1 spent on purchases, plus bonuses of $100 to $1,000. You can also save on travel and gas with this card.
It's not the best option for everyday spending, however, as most types of purchases will get you just 1 point per $1. It has a fairly high regular APR, too, and its 0% APR promotion only applies to eligible Fiat Chrysler purchases. So, it’s best if you have at least one other card in your wallet to complement the
Dodge Credit Card.
What I Like About the Dodge Credit Card
$100 initial bonus offer
You can get a
$100 statement credit after spending $100 in FCA US purchases in your first billing cycle. Getting 100% back is pretty darn good, even though the value of the bonus is below average. The average initial bonus offer is
$238.74 right now, according to our research.
$1,000 toward a car purchase
If you charge at least $7,500 to the
Dodge Credit Card the first year your account is open, you’ll get a $1,000 bonus certificate that you can put toward the purchase of a Fiat Chrysler automobile, such as a Dodge. That’s an excellent incentive to get this card and meet the spending requirement. Just make sure to check your certificate for any special terms and conditions so you don’t lose out.
Up to 5 points / $1 spent
The
Dodge Credit Card rewards you at this rate when you make purchases from Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA). This is nearly five times what the average rewards card will give you.
0% for 6 months
You can get this financing promotion if you spend at least $499 with FCA in a single transaction.
Considering how high normal credit card interest rates are, this could save you a lot of money if you won’t be able to pay off your purchase in a single billing period. That said, you could get 0% financing for
up to four times as long with a different credit card.
No annual fee
Most co-branded credit cards like this lack annual fees, so this feature isn’t all that special. It does save you an average of
$28.25 per year compared to other credit card offers, though.
Numerous redemption options
The
Dodge Credit Card allows you to redeem your points for FCA purchases, obviously. You can also redeem for cash back, travel, merchandise and gift cards. These points are worth 1 cent per 1 point, and they last for seven years.
What I Don’t Like About the Dodge Credit Card
High regular APR
You should pay this card’s bill in full every month to avoid losing money to expensive interest charges. The only exceptions are purchases eligible for 0% financing.
1 point / $1 spent on most purchases
This is only about average for a rewards card. You can optimize your setup by pairing the
Dodge Credit Card with a card that gives at least 1.5% or
2% cash back on purchases.
Requires good credit
You’ll probably need a credit score of
700 or higher to have good odds of being approved for the
Dodge Credit Card. You can
get your free credit score right here on WalletHub if you’re not sure whether you’re in striking distance.
