To raise your chances of being approved for a higher credit limit, pay your bill on time for at least six straight months, reduce your outstanding debt, and update the income M&T Bank has on file. Impact of a M&T Visa Credit Card Credit Limit Increase on Your Credit Score
When you request a M&T Visa Credit Card credit limit increase, M&T Bank will conduct a hard pull of your credit report, which will cause a short-term dip in your credit score. M&T Bank cannot do a hard pull without your permission, though.
Alternatively, you could be eligible for a M&T Visa Credit Card credit limit increase without even requesting one. The M&T Visa Credit Card may offer an automatic credit limit increase if M&T Bank's regular review of your account shows a history of on-time payments and low debt. An automatic credit limit increase involves a soft pull, which does not affect your credit score.
To reset your M&T Visa Credit Card PIN, call customer service at (877) 779-3525 and speak with a representative or use the automated system. You can also get help changing your PIN by visiting your local M&T branch. Unfortunately, there isn't a way to reset your PIN online at the moment.

If you're the one requesting a higher credit limit, the issuer will perform a hard pull to determine your eligibility for it. And as you might already know, a hard pull can lower your credit score for a short period of time.
On the other hand, automatic credit limit increases will only result in a soft pull and won't affect your credit...

This was the first credit card that I ever got. I remember signing up for it during freshman orientation in college. My university had a Wells Fargo branch in our main student center so pretty much everyone signed up for this card. All through college this it proved to be quite useful, especially when purchasing books each semester, it felt good knowing I didn’t have to worry about coming out of pocket to cover those expenses. It has all the basic features you would expect for a credit card, late fees are standard, grace period is normal, and it has very limited rewards, but all of this is to be expected. For a first card this is a great choice and if you make purchases regularly and pay your balance off within an adequate amount of time, your spending limit will continue to increase.

This is the first credit card I have ever owned. I got this card in my second year of college as a way to build credit. The reason I chose this card is because I also have student loans and other accounts through them and I could look at them all in the same place. The website is very easy to navigate and if you have any questions the customer service will take care of them for you very quickly and easily. One thing about the customer service is that they are pushy sometimes and will always offer you services such as fraud protection or trading accounts. The card is very user friendly and flexible. Purchases upload to the online account very quickly and accurately and I have never had any problems making payments. The rate is very high compared to other student credit cards so if you get behind on the payments it could become a problem, so keep up with the payments and the Wells Fargo Credit Card is a very great card.

This card was my first credit card ever. I really like Wells Fargo's online service: it is quick and very easy to use. The customer service is great, as well: I have never had any problems when contacting them. The limit on this card is incredibly high. However, they're quick to tack on late fees. The fees did end up keeping me in line, and made me sure to pay back in time, which I guess is helpful enough. My favourite part has to be the lack of annual fees: It's nice, being able to buy without any tacked on fees when I pay in time.

The Wells Fargo Student Credit Card is great for young people that wants to build up their credit. I started with an $800 limit that has since gone up to $2500. The card has an okay annual rate. The reason I signed up for Wells Fargo was because it was the most convenient bank near my apartment. The card has a higher limit than one that I would ever need. A great option that the bank has is to have them send you the billing statement to your email rather than them sending a physical on. I accidentally went over my limit, but they gave me a window to pay off the overdraft without charging me extra.

I signed up with Wells Fargo bank during the summer between high school and college. I was 18 at the time. They offered me this credit card because I was going to College. It has lower rates than the normal card. I started off with an 800 dollar credit limit. It has rose every year, I am now at a 3600 dollar credit limit. A negative about this card is that if you are late on your payment by even a couple days they tack on a 35 dollar late charge. Also, they will call you multiple times a day with their automated messaging system telling you to pay. It is rather annoying.

This credit card is rather easy to use, especially with Wells Fargo's online banking system. You can make a credit card payment at pretty much any time using the online system, and you can have automated e-mailed sent to you about your limit (this is optional, but very convenient). I don't use this card too often, so I don't go over my limit, but my experience has been positive. They have never blocked me for any reason, and my purchases always go through without a problem. I would recommend this for college students who are attempting to get their first credit card.

I have been nothing but happy with this credit card. It is simple to use, and the online banking makes it so simple to pay off my debt on time! It is designed for college students and I use it all the time because of its convenience and ease of use. In addition it was easy for me to get and there is no annual fees which is very helpful. All of the rates are fair and have been very reasonable. I would definitely reccommend this card to any of my friends in college who use wells fargo and could use a credit card.
