The
Wells Fargo Attune® Card is a good credit card for you if you have a
700+ credit score and you spend a lot on self-care expenses such as gym memberships and haircuts, as well as entertainment, pet expenses, and eco-friendly purchases. You can earn
1 - 4% cash rewards, and you won’t have to pay an annual fee.
In addition to unique bonus rewards categories for purchases, the
Wells Fargo Attune® Card offers an easy-to-earn initial bonus that benefits both you and a charitable organization. It also has an introductory financing promotion, offering
0% for 12 months on purchases.
Below, you can learn more about what I like and don’t like about this card so you can decide whether you should apply for it.
What I Like About the Wells Fargo Attune® Card
$0 annual feeWells Fargo Attune’s
$0 annual fee means the card is easily worthwhile. You just need to earn rewards on purchases and then pay the bill in full monthly when the regular APR is in effect to avoid interest charges.
The
$0 fee also saves you
$27.85 per year compared to the average credit card available right now.
Wells Fargo Attune is one of hundreds of credit cards with no annual fee, however, so you’ve got options.
1 - 4% cash rewardsThe
Wells Fargo Attune® Card’s reward rates are impressive, considering the average card only gives you about 1% back on all purchases. But
Wells Fargo Attune’s bonus rewards categories are even more interesting.
Most credit cards give you either a flat rewards rate on all purchases or extra rewards in certain spending categories, which typically include things like gas, groceries and travel.
Wells Fargo Attune has a different focus, doling out extra rewards for people who like to pamper themselves and their pets while doing right by Mother Nature.
If you get the
Wells Fargo Attune Card, you will earn
4% cash rewards on self-care, select sports, recreation & entertainment and planet friendly purchases (including EV charging stations, public transportation, and purchasing select second hand and vintage), as well as 1% cash rewards on other purchases. Plus, there’s no limit to how much you can earn, and your rewards won’t expire as long as your account is open.
$100 cash rewards after spending $500 in the first 3 monthsWells Fargo Attune’s initial bonus isn’t the biggest, but it is easy to earn. Plus, it’s not just you who benefits. In addition to the
$100 Cash Rewards bonus you’ll receive by spending
$500 in the first
3 months.
0% for 12 months on purchasesThis introductory promotion could save you a bundle on interest charges if you’ve got some big purchases coming up. But if saving on interest is your top priority and you might need longer to pay off what you buy, consider getting one of the
best 0% APR credit cards instead. You could get 0% for as long as 21 months. With any card, a much higher regular APR applies to balances remaining after the 0% promotion ends.
Valuable secondary benefitsThe
Wells Fargo Attune Card offers cell phone protection, rental car insurance, concierge service, $0 liability for fraudulent purchases and several other perks. Make sure to read the benefits guide if you decide to apply, so you know exactly what’s at your disposal and what you need to do to use each perk.
What I Don’t Like About the Wells Fargo Attune® Card
18.49% - 28.49% (V) APRIf you carry a balance from month to month when this regular APR is in effect, your savings from rewards will quickly dwindle. The exact APR you’re assigned depends on your overall creditworthiness when you apply, but it’s likely to be higher than average for your credit score. The average rate among credit cards for people with excellent credit is just
17.27%.
Bonus rewards eligibility isn’t always clearWells Fargo gives examples of qualifying purchases and merchants for each of the Attune Card’s bonus reward categories, but they’re just examples. Whether a purchase qualifies ultimately comes down to the merchant category code, and it’s not always obvious which bucket a merchant falls in. This doubt exists with other credit cards that offer bonus rewards, too, but most have more recognizable bonus categories.
