We purchased a GO2bank card from Dollar Tree and loaded $20 onto it, expecting a simple and secure way to manage our money. When we tried to use the card, it didn't work at all. The money was gone, and it felt like it had been stolen. We tried multiple times to reach customer service, but no one was available. After days of trying, we finally spoke to someone—and they had no clue what had happened to our funds. No resolution, no accountability. My husband told the representative that we would make sure people know about this issue. Save yourself the frustration and stay far away from GO2bank.

I go to make a transaction, and I can't access my own card. I call back, and they have locked my card permanently, telling me I need to send them ID. I sent them ID, and they completely prevented me from accessing my funds. Now I am late on making a payment. I can't cover anything, all because they made a mistake. They asked me a bunch of bogus questions that I answered correctly, then they tell me I got it wrong as if I don't know where I used to live. These people are completely playing games with me. And if I do not get my money in thirty days, I will be coming back with a lawsuit, and trust and believe, it'll be a lot more money coming out than five hundred dollars.
Be very careful when using this bank. I was trying to rent a car, and the business that was renting it to me told me to get a card from Go To Bank to be eligible for a promotion. I had to get a prepaid Go To Bank card, load $355 on it, and then call them back to process the payment. So, I did all that, and the car rental place turned out to be a fraud. So I tried to get my cash back off the card because I decided just to buy a car, and I was told that I wasn't able to get the cash back. I could only use the card for purchases, and if I wanted my cash back, I had to wait 3 to 6 weeks for them to send me a check, even though I put $355 cash on it. Then I paid $5.60 for the card, another $5 to have the money put on the card, and then I was charged another $5 fee for a monthly charge. I talked to three different employees and a supervisor and got no help. I was not eligible to get my cash back; I was only able to make purchases. I never had an issue getting my money back with every other prepaid card I have used in the past, as long as I put cash on it. I don't understand why I couldn't have my cash back. I never got a straight answer from anyone with Go To Bank. Because of them, I lost my job, wasted $20 on miscellaneous charges in the first 2 days, and fees that should not ever have been applied. This is the absolute worst banking institution I've ever dealt with. My advice? Do yourself a favor and do not get involved with them. They are just as dishonest as the car rental place. I believe they might be working together with the car rental. It is not a fact, but it's just way too coincidental that I had issues with both of them, and I also couldn't get ahold of anyone with the bank until they charged me the monthly fee.
Have a great day, sincerely,
Paul W. Grey Jr.
