Activate a purchased card and within 2 days already a $5 monthly service charge!!!!!! Then they get you to set up direct deposit and tell you your chipped permanent card will arrive within 7 days. You get your card and it's a different account number WTH!!! Why even allow a temp card to be set up for direct deposit when you're going to have to change everything a week later. You call to get info and let them know how much of an inconvenience this is and they hang up on you.
Takes 3 business days to post. So if you need your funds immediately forget it. I got hung up on. The manager I spoke to had no Idea what her job was. So disappointed in this experience. Closing my account for sure!

How can I get a Green Dot cash advance?
You can get a Green Dot cash advance at any ATM, by using the PIN that was mailed with your card. You can also ask for a PIN by calling the number on the back of your card.
It's good to know that credit card cash advances are really expensive (not just Green Dot cash advances), and should be avoided if possible. If you absolutely need a cash advance, it's important to know that the interest rate will be 19.99% and it will begin accruing immediately. Other than that, you will be charged a cash advance fee of $5 or 3% of the amount you withdraw, whichever is more.
How do I apply for a Green Dot credit card?
You cannot currently apply for a Green Dot credit card.
As an alternative to Green Dot, you can check out the Capital One Platinum Secured Credit Card or the OpenSky® Secured Visa® Credit Card.
There are plenty of other secured credit cards on the market that you can choose from. The idea is to find the best one for your needs.
Can you use a Green Dot credit card at an ATM?
Yes, you can use a Green Dot credit card at an ATM. Green Dot Bank currently operates under several other names (GO2bank, GoBank, and Bonneville Bank) and its current credit card offering, the Go2Bank Secured Credit Card, belongs to the Visa network. So you can use it at any ATM that accepts Visa and has the network logo on it.
You will need a PIN to get a cash advance from an ATM, though. If you haven't received one with your Go2Bank Secured Credit Card, you can generate it through your mobile app.
But it's important to know that using a credit card at ATMs will be incredibly expensive in general and on your Go2Bank Secured Credit Card in particular. You will not only have to pay a cash advance fee of 5% (min $10), but you will also be subjected to interest that will start building up right away, with no grace period at all, at a rate of 26.99%.
