No, the Amex Gold Card doesn’t pay for Global Entry, as this isn’t part of the card’s benefits. Global Entry is a program that provides expedited airport security and customs screening to members. If you want a card that will reimburse you for the Global Entry program fees, you should check out other American Express cards that offer this perk.
The American Express Platinum Card®, for instance, offers a $120 statement credit every 4 years for a Global Entry application fee. Alternatively, the card gives a statement credit up to $85 every 4.5 years for a TSA PreCheck® application fee. This card also comes with several other travel benefits, like airline fee credits (enrollment required), travel insurance, and generous travel rewards.
Notable Amex Cards That Pay for Global Entry
If you get an Amex card that offers a Global Entry reimbursement, simply charge the application fee to your card and you’ll receive a statement credit for that amount within 8 weeks. It’s important to note that cardholders are eligible for one Global Entry application fee or one TSA PreCheck credit - not both.
If you’re not set on American Express as an issuer, you could also check out more credit cards that pay for Global Entry to weigh your options.
