It’s difficult to say why you were not approved for the Best Buy® Credit Card as meeting its minimum credit requirement doesn’t guarantee approval. While the Best Buy® Credit Card requires good credit or better (a credit score of 700+) for approval, there could be several other reasons why applications may get denied. Issuers are required by law to inform you of why your application was rejected. Some of these reasons may include not enough credit history, low disposable income, too much existing debt or having recent delinquencies on your credit report. Your Best Buy® Credit Card rejection letter will inform you of the specific reasons for your denial.
For more information, you can also contact the Citi Credit Card Application Status Department at (888) 201-4523. If you feel that your financial situation has changed, or your rejection may have been caused by discrepancies between your credit report and the reasons listed by Citibank, you may also ask for reconsideration.
