You need at least 2,500 points for a flight with Bank of America because BofA requires cardholders to redeem at least 2,500 rewards points at a time. Bank of America rewards points are worth 1 cent each when redeemed for travel, so 2,500 points will cover $25 in airfare
The average fare for a flight in the first half of 2021 was $221, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, which would require 22,100 Bank of America rewards points. You don%t have to pay for the entire ticket with points, though. You can redeem for any amount above the $25 threshold.
To figure out the number of Bank of America rewards points you would need to book a flight, simply multiply the price of your ticket by 100. And keep in mind that Bank of America points are worth the most when redeemed for travel, so other redemption options may give you less value.
