The Alliant Cashback Visa® Signature Credit Card mainly uses TransUnion to check your credit when you apply, though Alliant Credit Union may use Equifax or Experian instead, according to anecdotal evidence. So, if any of your credit reports are frozen, you should unfreeze them before applying for the card.
Key Things to Know
- The Alliant Cashback Visa® Signature Credit Card requires excellent credit.
- When you apply, Alliant Credit Union will perform a hard inquiry on your credit report, which might temporarily damage your credit score by a few points.
- If you’re approved for the card, Alliant Credit Union will report information about your card usage and payment history to Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion once a month.
- Your major credit reports contain nearly identical information. If one includes negative information, the other two probably will as well.
- It’s a good idea to check for any mistakes on your credit report so you can dispute them right away.
You can keep tabs on your TransUnion credit report as well as check your credit score for free, right here on WalletHub.
