Amex credit cards only have 15 digits because Amex has its own proprietary system for processing transactions, which doesn't rely on the same payment networks as other credit card companies.
While the length of an Amex credit card number may be shorter than other cards, it still contains all the necessary information to process a transaction. This information includes the card issuer identification number (IIN), account number, and a check digit to ensure the card number is valid.
