I'm frustrated with this credit card, which I hardly ever use, but need to every now and then to keep my credit score excellent. But this last time they failed to send me a paper statement, so I was four days late before my spouse noted an email about it. Though he paid it, along with a late fee that was almost equal to the charge, they lowered our credit limit from 4k to $250, and I have been cut off from customer service twice already. So far I've spent about an hour on the phone. I'm waiting for the 3rd rep now. Not fun for a Saturday, or any day! This credit card is NOT recommended!!!

Worst credit card customer service ever. Lost my card and reported the same day...after a 36 min hold time on the phone! Was assured my replacement card was sent by express mail and would arrive within 3 business days, but it has been 8 business days already and still no card. Called customer service to follow-up and am currently on hold again. It has been 47 min already, as I type this review while on hold. Not even a auto call-back option like other banks/credit card services. The only other way to contact them is via snail mail. No email or online chat. To top it all off, they provide zero liability protection for unauthorized transactions, so whatever the thief has purchased on your stolen card comes out of your pocket. Avoid the Citizens Bank credit card like the plague. Whatever attractive card features they offer is ultimately useless when the customer service is this pathetic. [Note: this review is specifically for Citizens Bank Credit Card Services, which is outsourced to a different entity. This is not for the bank's regular services like debit card, saving/checking account, etc., that are handled by the bank directly].

Pretty good card but it would be better to have a card that has points. In the beginning they give 10% cash back on restaurants and food so that was great but after a certain amount of time it goes to 1.8% cash back

It is a good card, better than all 1.5 % cash back and 1.5 points/$1 rewards cards. Capital One Quicksilver card is more famous, but no better than this Citizens Bank card. This is my opinion.........

If you’re a baseball fan from the Northeast like me, Citizens Bank might make you think about the Philadelphia Phillies because the bank has the naming rights to the club’s ballpark. Everyone else’s minds probably jump to savings accounts, checking accounts and credit cards, which makes a lot more sense. Maybe after this little review of the Citizens Bank CashBack Platinum Credit Card I’ll start thinking along those lines too. First off, when considering the Citizens Bank CashBack Credit Card its important to note that it is for people with excellent credit. That should tell you two things: you shouldn’t apply for it if you don’t have excellent credit and the card better offer some top notch rewards or 0% intro terms if you do have excellent credit and are to consider it. The Citizens Bank Cash Back Platinum Card does not have an initial rewards bonus (Strike one in the current excellent credit card environment). It does offer 10% cash back on gas, grocery store and drug store purchases for the first 90 days though. You’d have to spend a heck of a lot in those categories to make the Citizens Bank Cash Back Credit Card stack up against cards offering a couple hundred dollars in initial bonuses though. After the first 90 days, this cash back Citizens Bank credit card only gives you 1% cash back on all purchases, which is basically the standard base rate offered by cash back cards (usually accompanied by lasting higher rates on specific categories). In light of the fact that the Citizens Bank CashBack Credit Card does not have an initial bonus with a defined value, is only competitive with cards that do if you spend a lot in gas, groceries and prescriptions in the first 90 days, and only offers 1% cash back after the first 90 days, Strike 2. Sure the Citizens Bank Cash Back Credit Card offers 0% on transfers and purchases for the first 12 months, but there are a few cards out there that offer such rates for 21 months. Strike 3.
The Citizens Bank Cash Back Card is probably not worth applying for, all things considered, and that means you need to find a card that is. If you want cash back, cards like the Capital One Cash Back Credit Card (1.5% cash back on all purchases) and the Blue Cash Everyday from American Express (3% at supermarkets, 2% at gas stations, and 1% on everything else) are better options than the Citizens Bank Card. If you want a long 0% intro rate, check out the Citi Simplicity Card or the Citi Platinum Select Credit Card, both of which offer 0% on purchases and transfers for 21 months.
