Over all it is a great starter card to bad they did away with the 20 credit for good grades decent app as well as plenty of things to keep you busy

Discover credit card is a really good option for the people with limited history as it approves you for just being a graduate student and having and income

Discover is the bomb diggity! Great, steady, and generous credit limit increases in my experience. Customer service is top-notch and I can count on one hand the number of times I've had to wait more than a minute or less to have my call answered-24/7!

I'm a later in life college student and this has been a good card to get into the upper echelon of better cards. The only bummer about discover is that you can only open one new account with them in a one-year period... Same with credit line increases, you have to wait a year. Other than that I've had really good experience with them. So good, that I've actually opened up both the checking and a savings account with discover.

Great card for first time card holders. As with any card, do not over spend. However, the cash back match at the end of the year is amazing! Customer service is also the best I’ve experienced, and it’s all local people!

6 month UPDATE, still love this card. Discover IT is a secured card, so I keep the balance close to $0. I don't want to pay interest on my own money. The cash back I put in my Discover savings account where it earns interest. Discover Savings pays one of the highest interest rates available. Current typical bank interest is 0.01, Discover is paying 0.40. I look forward to getting my security deposit back. I plan on keeping the Discover IT card even if it doesn't graduate to a non-secured card in the next 2 to 3 months. Zero annual fee is excellent.

Cash back, first year cash back match and zero annual fee. Secured card will eventually graduate to a non secured card with responsible use.

I signed up for this car recently and I've only had it for a few months so I will reserve me full judgment until I have had it a little while longer. But my tentative judgment of the card is that it is absolutely excellent. As far as I’m concerned, this is the best credit card out there right now. First of all, the application process is completely easy. You can also chat with someone from Discover online when you need assistance, which has been a huge help for me. I absolutely love their customer service. They don’t have any annual fee, which to me isn’t even a perk, it’s just something that every credit card should have. You should never have to pay to build your credit up. Overall, I’m loving this card thus far.

I chose the Open road card because, as a college student I had a very limited credit history. I needed to establish myself and start creating a report to help with student loans so I looked through the options geared towards people in my shoes and this card by Discover stuck out. A lot of weekends I would be traveling to and from school for work and family stuff so I used this card mainly on expenses like gas or stopping for some fast food. I liked the cash back portion even though its not much a little back is better than nothing especially as a student. The intro apr was a nice safety too even after the starting months the apr is decent so if I ever had a bad month where I couldn't work interest wouldn't ruin me. Overall I've been satisfied especially how they accepted me with little credit many other companies completely ignored my request.

This was my first credit card for college so I was not sure what to expect, but I felt that for my first card it was a great experience. I think it was really a great fit for my as a college student and I was able to get all the essentials I needed for my first year. Even after I was at school, it was pretty accommodating for all the things I needed to buy and get during the year. It was pretty great that I got emails about cash back opportunities and what not, so I definitely too advantage of that whenever I could. There was 0 interest for the first 9 months too, which was great because I had time to pay it off over the year with the job I got near school. As a kid straight out of high school, I didn't have an established credit, but this card helped me establish some good credit and made it easy to get approved for a couple unrelated things later on. Overall, it was a pretty good card and I'd recommend college students to try to get one if they can!
