GAP Credit Card's Additional Info
Early Access to select sales.

By applying, you agree that you’ll first be considered for the GAP Credit Card which can be used anywhere Mastercard is accepted. If not approved for the GAP Credit Card, you’ll then automatically be considered for the GAP Store Card which can be used across all Gap Inc. stores and online.
Easy way to save 20%. You will automatically get 20% off the first purchase you make at gap.com or gapfactory.com with your Gap Credit Card. So if you’re going to buy something from Gap’s website, why not earn a little something in the process?
Earn 5% back at Gap and more. You will earn 5 points per $1 spent at Gap, Old Navy, Banana Republic and Athleta. That works out to 5% back, since every 500 points you earn gets you $5 in store credit.
Make sure to pay in full. The Gap Card is not kind to people who carry balances from month to month, charging interest at a lofty annual rate. For context, the average credit card for fair credit charges 27.48%, according to WalletHub’s latest Credit Card Landscape Report.
Must have good credit to get the Mastercard. There are two Gap Credit Cards: a Mastercard and a store card. The Gap Mastercard Credit Card can be used to make purchases anywhere Mastercard is accepted and gives you 1 point per $1 spent on all purchases. It also requires at least good credit for approval. You only need fair credit to get the Gap Store Card, which isn’t a bad consolation prize, considering it has all of the Gap Mastercard Card’s best features. You can check your credit score for free on WalletHub to see which card you’re likely to get.

I have been using this card for the last 5 years. I love the nice rewards it provides for shopping with other merchants. P.S. I always make my full credit card payment on time, so I have never had the issue of high interest rates.

This card contacts me when I'm not using it enough and then charges me with high interest and late fees if I don't pay early. Recently, I've had an issue between Barclays and my bank involving fraudulent payments, which were resolved, but then my bank was locked, and I couldn't pay my bills for four weeks. I had to accept late fees, interest charges, and a dip in my credit score because they didn't know how to unblock my bank account. I spent over three weeks calling Barclays and my bank, and in the end, it was all Barclays' fault for not unblocking my card when I asked them to. They take no responsibility. This company does not care about you.

Rewards are not paid in full. They used to have a great rewards program, but the last two to three years have been agonizing. I had to call to remind them, and at this point, I'm quite done with that.

I just don't know about this card. I got this card back in 2005 when my kids were younger, and there was a need for it. I was going to keep it, but I've asked repeatedly to have the interest rate lowered. Since I've been with them so long, I thought they would comply. I do enjoy the little rewards, but I'll move my business elsewhere if they don't lower the interest rate. It's too high, and all these fees are ridiculous.

Had the card for over a year but when there was issue with the app for it on my phone I had to call in to customer service. I was not able to understand the girl in customer service since her accent was so heavy. I eventually talked with another girl who was extremely rude. I cancelled the credit card right then and I am happy to be rid of their rude customer service reps

I would rate them a 0 star….Worst Card…I called to pay off in full because the interest are in the sky. To my understanding I didn’t have a balance after I paid it all off. Then I received an email saying I had a balance because off past interests fees and a late fee! DO NOT APPLY FOR THIS CARD! They will find a way to get more money out of you.

Worst credit card I have ever had. Poor communication, horrible website with confusing statements, transactions do not update daily (they show randomly). Cherry on top, had a fraud transaction, they said they will take care of it an didn't, reported my account as past due and my credit score dropped 60 points. After hours on the phone, I false promises, I just paid the charge and closed the account before another report of past due. RUN AWAY from this CARD.

WORST card ever. Locked me out of my online banking for Barclays and Synchrony when they made the bank transition and charged me a late fee even though I literally had no way to pay. Pure idiocy and STEALING from customers. I had perfect credit until they messed it up. I want to be compensated for my hours on the phone correcting their system. I wasn’t planning to be a pro bono one order for the Gap’s credit card service. Their card is a despicable scandal. Don’t risk jeopardizing your credit score by signing up with this horribly run, unprofessional, incompetent team.
