You cannot add an Amazon Store Card authorized user, unfortunately. While Amazon does allow members of the same household to share payment methods by linking their accounts together, that’s not the same as adding an authorized user. Through Amazon Household, up to two adults and four teenagers can shop on Amazon using the same Amazon Store Card, although each teen purchase must still be approved by an adult.
On the other hand, when someone becomes an authorized user on another person’s account, they receive a credit card with their name on it, and the issuer also starts reporting account activity to the credit bureaus under the authorized user’s name. So, unlike sharing a family member’s Amazon Store Card, being an authorized user on a credit card will impact your credit history. It is important to note that in both cases, the only person responsible for making payments is the primary cardholder.
