However, if a required monthly payment is not made on time, a late fee may be added to the minimum amount due in the following billing cycle, and that fee will accrue interest at the standard purchase APR.

Their interest rate is exorbitantly high. After the THOUSANDS I paid over the last few years (I finally paid it off at a 29% interest rate), my total rewards were an enthusiastic $6.89. This card is a joke. Stay away.

Stay away from the Amazon Syncrony card. They turn it on themselves charging your subscription fees, then hit you up for payment after the $40 late fee has been added. You call and complain and they blame you, saying you chose to charge a $1.99 digital media Amazon fee. Thereby getting the latest fee for a charge you never made. They did this 3 months in a row. I complained to Amazon but they blamed Syncrony. Syncrony blames you. The card is automatically added as your chosen payment method, even if you switch it, they switch it back each month , then hit you up for the late fees... stay away!!! You've been warned. I canceled the card. So I still get the credit hit... a bunch of thieves!!!

Synchrony Bank as a whole is a joke. I had a Lowe's card issued by Synchrony for over two years with a $7,500 limit; they closed it without warning. Two weeks later, they reduced my Amazon credit from $1,500 to $450. I was never late on any payments. Avoid their nonsense and get a real credit card from a reputable company. Stay away from Synchrony.

I did not make this purchase on this card, and it's not allowed as a backup payment method in the settings either. Yet, they are harassing me and lowering my credit. I wrote and called twice; they kept ignoring my inquiries. Also, they promised a 5 percent bonus on a $400 purchase, but after calling and writing, I never received it.

I never miss a payment, but they blocked my card with $200 of cashback. Then I had to pay a $240 balance, and I can't use my rewards because they removed the rewards. They stole from me $200 that I earned months ago. Don't trust these thieves.

I was a loyal Amazon cardholder for over five years with a perfect payment history, always paying 3-4 times the minimum.
Recently, a completely unrelated account with a different bank had an autopay setup glitch. I set up autopay, but the configuration disappeared from their system, causing a 30-day late payment to escalate to a 60-day late payment, which hit my credit report. Once discovered, I immediately rectified this and paid the account off in full.
As soon as that single, unrelated late mark made it to my report, SYNCB's response was immediate and severe. They slashed my Amazon card limit to an amount below my existing balance, instantly pushing my utilization over 100% and flagging me as "over limit."
This started a domino effect. SYNCB then cut limits and closed my other accounts with them. Another creditor, Comenity, followed suit, cutting limits by as much as 80% and closing accounts. In a matter of months, I lost over 70% of my available credit, and my score, which I had worked for years to build, dropped by nearly 200 points.
I take responsibility for trusting an autopay system that failed, but the response from SYNCB was vastly disproportionate. They treated a single, corrected, unrelated late payment as a major risk event, with no regard for the years of perfect history with them on my Amazon Store Card.
It's disheartening to see years of work trying to get my credit reports to convey responsible financial behavior be destroyed so quickly by an algorithm. Thankfully, other issuers (Elan, Capital One, Citibank) looked at my actual history and stood by me. SYNCB and Comenity did not. Be very cautious.
I still have and use the Amazon Store Card but have been actively migrating all my recurring charges (subscriptions, etc.) from it to my debit card. That way, I'll be able to pay the entire balance off much more quickly and maybe use it a few times a year on small purchases to keep it from becoming a dormant account.

They regularly hold payments for no reason. I have other Synchrony store cards, and none of them have ever done this. I have paid my complete balance regularly. The last payment I made posted on 9/30, cleared my bank on 10/5, and still is not reflected in my available balance as of 10/9. There is no way that electronic funds transfers take that amount of time to "clear"—they just do not credit your account until you call and complain. Once they finally give me credit for this last payment, I will 100% close this account. It's the worst!

Applied and was given a $3,000 limit. I've had it for years, with my credit score constantly improving during that time. They raised it without my asking to $6,000. I put a big-ticket item on it and am now paying it down in big chunks, but they're lowering my credit limit by that amount every time I make a payment. This shows a high percentage of credit usage on that card. I will be paying it off and canceling that account. I know it will hurt my credit score because it will shorten the length of my longest account average, as I've had it for so long, but I don't care. I'm over 700 and I'll take the hit to make a statement. Synchrony is not the only one losing out on the high interest I've been paying; Amazon is going to lose a customer as well due to guilt by association. It's clear that Amazon is aware of the situation.
