Yes, it is possible to have both a Capital One Platinum and a Capital One Quicksilver Cash Rewards Credit Card. There is no predefined number of Capital One cards you can have at a time. According to customer service, you can have as many Capital One credit cards as your credit standing would allow. Approval would be based on your credit history, your income, and any potential debt you might have.
It’s worth noting, though, that these two cards are meant for two very different types of consumers. Capital One Platinum is a starter credit card for people with limited credit. Capital One Quicksilver on the other hand, requires at least good credit for approval and comes with much better terms.
Alternative to Having Both Capital One Platinum & Quicksilver
Instead of having both cards, you could also consider upgrading your Capital One Platinum card to the Capital One Quicksilver card. You can do this by calling the number you see on the back of your card. It’s possible for the issuer to send you an upgrade offer, too.
Keep in mind that Capital One tends to offer upgrades on accounts that are at least six months old, with a history of timely payments and low credit utilization.
