The USAA secured credit card approval requirements include a Social Security number, a physical U.S. mailing address, and enough income for monthly bill payments. Both the USAA® Secured American Express® Card and the USAA® Secured Visa Platinum® Card are meant for those looking to build or rebuild their credit, so you can be approved regardless of your credit score.
Keep in mind that, to be able to apply for either of these credit cards, you’ll also need to be a USAA member. Membership is available to all U.S. Military members and veterans, precommissioned officers, as well as their spouses and children.
What You Need to Apply for a USAA Secured Credit Card
- Be a member of USAA
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have a physical U.S. address
- Provide proof of income
- Provide your Social Security Number
Keep in mind that all credit card applications are subject to review which will trigger a hard inquiry on your credit report.
