You get three free tows with Progressive Roadside Assistance every six months. Progressive’s 24/7 roadside assistance will tow your vehicle to the nearest qualified repair shop, or anywhere within a 15-mile radius, based on your preference.
If you need roadside assistance and have already used your allotted tows, you can still call Progressive, but you will need to pay for services out of pocket. Out-of-pocket service charges are paid to the local tow company handling your claim, and prices vary depending on the market price for roadside assistance in the area.
You can also use your roadside assistance calls for more than just towing. Progressive offers winching services, battery jump-starts, fuel delivery, tire changes, and locksmith services, too.
Services Offered by Progressive Roadside Assistance
| Service | Details |
| Towing | Progressive will tow your vehicle anywhere within a 15-mile radius, or to the nearest shop. |
| Winching | Progressive will extricate your car from mud or a ditch. |
| Jump-starts | Progressive will jump-start a dead car battery. |
| Fuel delivery | Progressive will bring you fuel if you run out; you will only pay for the fuel itself. |
| Tire changes | Progressive will change your tire for you, but you will need to have a spare or buy the new tire. |
| Locksmith | Progressive will open your car if you lock yourself out. |
Progressive roadside assistance costs anywhere from $15 to $120 every 6 months, depending on your specific policy. It is important to note that, in some states, Progressive may require you to carry comprehensive and collision coverage before you can add roadside assistance to your policy.
If you are in immediate need of assistance, you can use Progressive’s online portal or call 1-800-776-4737. If you do not already have roadside assistance, you will need to sign up and coverage may not take effect the same day.
