Bundled home and car insurance. Paid for 6 mos. in advance every time for 8 years. Every six months rates increased, even though i was insuring the same autos and they had depreciated for 8 years. Last period i sold a vehicle 3 weeks after stupidly renewing policy here. I called my representative and told them that i had sold vehicle and did not need the remaining 5+ months of coverage that was prepaid. "Oh, ok, i will cancel that and credit your account". Four months later new bill and increases, and sold vehicle still on policy. I go online and delete, and then they credit me the remaining 3 weeks only. I contact them and they tell me i have to prove to them that i sold the vehicle or no credit. THIS WAS A TITLE TRANSFER, STATE OF OF ILLINOIS, WITH PROOF OF LIABILITY RELEASE STATEMENT DETACHED AND FILLED AND FILED WITH THE ILLINOIS SECRETARY OF STATE AT DATE OF SALE. THIEVES SHOULD BE IN PRISON OR RETRIBUTION COULD REIGN...

Horrible company. Once upon a time, I was a naive new home owner. My mortgage lender paired me with Country Financial. I did not realize that it was highly abnormal for an insurance provider to demand that I meet with him many miles from my home merely so that he could try to sell additional insurance that I did not need or want at the time. A few months later, because I cancelled a supplemental policy that did not serve me, he called and screamed at me for 40 minutes on my work phone. He then demanded that we sever ties altogether 'x leaving my home without coverage. Fortunately, I was able to regain coverage with 2 hours from another provider. It was the best change rhat could have happened. I will never allow the owner of any insurance company yell at me in the future. It was abusive.

Was rear ended by someone with Country Financial Insurance. I have called to speak to the representative 22 times and gotten an answering machine 21 times. the 1 time I didn't get the answering machine the representative (Eric) picked up and within seconds the line went mute... the call wasn't dropped.... just dead silent. I have left multiple multiple messages detailing my name, claim number, and contact information asking to have a call made back to me. good job making me believe insurance isn't a scam to steal money from people. I will continue finding new avenues to give terrible reviews each day till someone takes my call. thank you

John and Kevin are extremely unprofessional. Won't provide explanations on premium increases, commissions, and seem to drop off the radar once the check is cashed. I have been in this business for over 20 years and can honestly say these guys are something else. If anyone here needs a great PROFESSIONAL broker please reach out.

Wouldn’t waste your money on this company!! They will hit every loop possible to prove they don’t have to cover it!! Everything is fine while they shovel your money in - the truth comes out on how much they SUCK, when you have damage and they leave your Family hanging to deal with it!! Absolute SCAM, find a different insurance company!!

I had no problems with them until they switched to an automatic payment system a few months ago. They forced me to switch to it, and to take it off auto payment increases monthly payments by a significant amount. In addition, my premium goes up every cycle without any explanation as to why. They looked at my account and found no factors that would influence my premium price. Seriously considering looking for a new car insurance company at this point.

F1 tornado tears through the yard, rips down every tree, passes within 50 yards of the house. Multiple roofing contractors inspect the roof and say it should be replaced. Both neighbors have new roofs installed under insurance, but Country denies my claim. The adjuster refused to even get on a ladder to inspect the damage. Instead, he said “it looks good from my drone.” It pays to pay a little extra for reputable insurance. For clarification - Country Financial is not a reputable company.

I bundled my home and auto together with Country Financial and it has been a headache from the get-go. My car insurance premium doubled from my last insurance agency...it started out at an initial number and then went UP due to the underwriters not having all the info they needed when they gave me a quote...and then I’ve been told the agent would “fix it” and it has now been two weeks and haven’t heard a word...oh, and they deducted the larger amount from my account which was supposed to be fixed. The rates are insane.

Country Financial took money out of my account for renters insurance. I cancelled on November 24, 2020 for both renters and car insurance since they are bundled together. People check your bank accounts and never assume that other people are doing their jobs correctly. If they are quick to get off the phone and sharp toned..then chances are.. they didn't do THEIR JOB!

I was involved in a car accident where the other insurance party was not being cooperative. Country financial fought for me, put me first, and made sure I was completely taken care of! When you're in an accident, especially one that is not your fault, it is a very stressful time. Any questions I had were answered with just a phone call, and both people I spoke with were friendly and polite. They made sure to tell me all of my options, and let me know that if I had any issues that they would help me.
You can get a COUNTRY Financial good student discount if you have at least a B average. Student drivers can save as long as they are full time high school or college students. College graduates can also save on their COUNTRY Financial premiums, regardless of their GPA, with COUNTRY Financial's college graduate discount.
Young drivers are usually quite expensive to insure since they lack driving experience. However, COUNTRY Financial offers a good student discount because having good grades shows the insurer that you are responsible off the road, meaning you're more likely to be responsible in the driver's seat as well.
COUNTRY Financial good student discounts vary by state, but it's always worth the effort of checking if they are available in your location.
No, COUNTRY Financial does not offer gap insurance. Unlike seven of the top 10 car insurance companies, COUNTRY Financial does not sell gap insurance, a specialty type of coverage that pays for the difference between a totaled car's value and the driver's loan or lease balance.
You have several options if you're a current COUNTRY Financial customer and are looking for gap insurance. You could switch insurers and purchase a policy from a company that does offer gap insurance (or loan/lease payoff coverage, which is similar), like Nationwide or Progressive. You could also maintain your policy with COUNTRY Financial and purchase gap insurance from a dealership or a stand-alone company. However, it's worth noting that dealership gap insurance is often the most expensive option, since it's usually rolled into your loan and charged interest.
For more information, check out WalletHub's complete guide to gap insurance.
To cancel COUNTRY Financial insurance, the policyholder must contact their local insurance representative. The cancellation can be arranged for a future date or set to take effect immediately. You will need your name, policy number, and the date you want your policy to end. If you've already paid your premium for the policy period in full, COUNTRY Financial will refund the unused portion, minus any cancellation fees.
It's important to remember that you don't need to cancel your policy just because you're going through some life changes. For example, you should have COUNTRY Financial update your mailing address or vehicle information if you're moving or buying a new car.
If you're canceling your current policy in order to switch to another company, be sure to activate your new policy before canceling the old one. This prevents a lapse in coverage, which would lead to higher premiums in the future.
Yes, COUNTRY Financial offers a defensive driving course discount for drivers who take an approved accident prevention course. By voluntarily taking an approved defensive driving course, COUNTRY Financial car insurance customers in eligible states can get a discount, though the exact amount varies between states. Once the discount expires, drivers can renew it by taking another course.
Defensive driving courses improve your driving skills by teaching you how to handle difficult situations on the road. For example, common traffic school topics include DUI/DWI laws, the consequences of different moving violations, and how to share the road. Specific details vary between states and classes, but online defensive driving courses typically cost up to $40 and take 4-12 hours to complete.
No, Country Financial does not have accident forgiveness. As a result, Country Financial car insurance customers should expect their rates to go up by an average of 44% after an at-fault accident, even if it's their first one.
Although you can't get accident forgiveness with Country Financial, there are other ways to lower your rate after an accident. For example, you can look for any additional discounts that you may qualify for. You might also consider temporarily reducing your coverage.
