No, Discover doesn’t offer extended warranty protection anymore; the benefit was discontinued on February 28, 2018, along with several other secondary benefits. Discover cards no longer have extended warranties, purchase protection, travel accident insurance, return protection or rental car insurance. Discover is the only major credit card company to lack all of those perks. And it’s currently the only one without an extended warranty plan.
The best remaining Discover card benefits are no annual fees and no foreign transaction fees on any of their cards. Discover also allows you to freeze your account on demand, which prevents new charges from being placed on the card if it’s been lost or stolen. Discover also has a “Cashback Match” feature where they will match all of the rewards you earn in your first year.
Finally, if you want a credit card with a great extended warranty benefit more than you want a Discover card, consider the Chase Sapphire Reserve® card. It has top notch rewards and really knows how to extend a warranty.
