No, U.S. Bank doesn’t allow joint credit card applications, however, you can add a joint owner to your existing credit card account. You should consider the following before making this decision:
- There may be an inquiry on both your and the potential joint owner’s consumer credit bureau reports.
- You can’t remove the person from your credit card account after that person is approved to become the joint owner.
- Both the owner and the joint owner are individually liable for the account balance.
If you still wish to add a joint owner to your credit card, you can call the U.S. Bank Credit Card customer service at (800) 285-8585.
You can tell them you’d like to add a joint owner and they will mail you a form. Fill out your portion of the form along with your signature, after you receive it. Then the potential joint owner will need to fill their part and sign it. You should remember to keep a copy of the completed form for your records.
