Yes, MetLife is now part of Foremost, and Foremost is owned by Farmers Insurance Group. Foremost Insurance is the division of Farmers that absorbed MetLife’s auto and home insurance policies after Farmers purchased them in April 2021 for $3.9 billion. The acquired insurance policies from MetLife remain the same for customers, though some products have been rebranded with the Farmers name.
Foremost is a specialty insurance company that was founded in 1952. Farmers purchased Foremost in 2000. MetLife still sells insurance, but their focus is now on health insurance products like dental and vision insurance. MetLife is currently the largest company for life/annuity insurance in the U.S., as well.
