GapCash is a program that offers customers savings through coupons earned on transactions over $50 during specific promotional periods at Gap, GapBody, GapKids, babyGap, and Gap Factory stores or online. These coupons can then be redeemed for discounts on future purchases during a separate redemption period.
How Does GapCash Work
1. Earning GapCash
You don’t need to have a Gap card or be part of the Gap Good Rewards program to earn GapCash—anyone who shops can get it. You earn GapCash during special promo periods based on how much you spend, whether online or in-store. For example, you’ll earn GapCash as follows:
- $50 – $99.99 spent = $20 in GapCash earned
- $100 – $149.99 spent = $40 in GapCash earned
- $150 – $199.99 spent = $60 in GapCash earned
- $200 – $249.99 spent = $80 in GapCash earned
- $250+ spent = $100 in GapCash earned
If you buy something in-store, you’ll get a GapCash coupon at checkout—one per transaction. If you order online, you’ll receive the coupon via email about a day after you complete your purchase.
Please note that GapCash can only be earned at Gap, GapBody, GapKids, babyGap, and Gap Factory stores or online. You cannot earn GapCash at other Gap Inc. brand stores or websites, such as Athleta, Banana Republic, or Old Navy.
2. Redemption Period
After the earning period ends, a separate redemption period begins, during which you can use your GapCash to save on future purchases. For example, if you earned GapCash from March 4th to June 3rd, you can redeem it from June 4th to June 9th.
3. Redeeming GapCash
During the redemption period, you can apply your GapCash to your purchases, and its value will be deducted from the total at checkout. For example, if you earned $20 in GapCash, you can use it for a $20 discount on your next qualifying purchase.
4. GapCash Expiration
The GapCash redemption period is typically available for one week after the earning period ends. Any GapCash that you don’t redeem during this time will expire and will be lost.
If you're a Gap Good Rewards member, you can convert any unused GapCash from online purchases into Rewards points—every dollar of GapCash equals one point. Just be sure to convert it within 30 days of the last eligible usage date. Gap Good Rewards members can also redeem their Gap points alongside GapCash.
For online orders, you can use your Gap points by selecting 'My Points and Rewards' at checkout and applying them in 100-point increments. Points can also be applied in-store at checkout.
