Key Things to Know About American Airlines Credit Card Rewards
No limit: There is no limit to the number of miles you can earn with an American Airlines credit card.
Expiration: Your American Airlines miles will expire after 24 months of inactivity, meaning you’ve gone two years without earning or redeeming any points. That’s easy to avoid by simply using your card.
Redemption options: You can redeem your miles for flights, seat upgrades, rental cars, hotel stays, vacation packages, Admirals Club lounge membership, luxury experiences and more.
Loyalty Points: All American Airlines credit cards offer one “loyalty point” for every mile earned on eligible purchases. These are different from rewards points, as they’re used to upgrade your status level in the American Airlines AAdvantage loyalty program.
The Citi AAdvantage Executive Card takes things even further and gives you a bonus of 10,000 loyalty points when you reach a total of 50,000 loyalty points earned during any status qualification year. You can earn an additional bonus of 10,000 points when you reach 90,000 loyalty points earned during the same year.

With all American Airlines credit cards, you can get a 10% discount on bookings made through the American Airlines Vacations portal.
Annual Flight Discount

Admirals Club Membership

As is typical for travel credit cards, all American Airlines credit cards have $0 foreign transaction fees.
Worldwide Acceptance
All American Airlines credit cards are on the Mastercard network, so they’re accepted in more than 210 countries and territories.
Global Entry or TSA PreCheck Benefit
The Citi AAdvantage Executive Card offers a credit of up to $120 every four years to cover the cost of the application fee for either Global Entry or TSA PreCheck. Since Global Entry also includes TSA PreCheck, we recommend applying for that one to get both.

Additional Mastercard Benefits
