The easiest auto repair credit cards to get include the Firestone Credit Card and the Tires Plus Credit Card, which are available to people with fair credit or better. Most auto repair store cards are also easy to get, but these two cards will net you more value than other options for fair credit or lower.
If you have no credit or bad credit, you may want to consider a card like the Capital One Quicksilver Secured Cash Rewards Credit Card, which gives 1.5% cash back on purchases. That can really add up when paying for expensive car repairs.
Minimum Credit Scores for Popular Auto Repair Cards
- Firestone Credit Card: 640
- Tires Plus Credit Card: 640
- Midas Credit Card: 640
- Meineke Credit Card: 640
- Big O Tires Credit Card: 640
- Discount Tire Credit Card: 640
- Goodyear Credit Card: 640
- Pep Boys Credit Card: 640
- Jeep Credit Card: 700
Rewards aren’t always a feature on auto repair credit cards, but one other common benefit is access to special financing, usually a deferred interest period, for large auto repair bills. Without special financing, the card balance you carry from month to month is subject to the regular APR, which is high on these cards. So, if you aren’t using a financing promotion, make sure you’re paying your bill in full and on time to avoid expensive interest costs.
General Credit Cards You Can Use for Auto Repairs
If you’d like to earn better rewards or get a 0% APR promotion, it’s worth noting that any major credit card can be used to pay for auto repairs, and you aren’t limited to any repair shop’s store credit card. The best cards require good credit or better. For example, the Citi Double Cash® Card offers 0% APR intro periods on balance transfers, gives 2% cash back on purchases, and is available for borrowers with good credit or better.

Easiest would be a secured credit card not affiliated with a repair company, like Discover it Secured. There’s no fee, and you’ll earn good rewards. If you really want a store card, just go with wherever you shop the most/get the best deal on repairs. The cards are pretty much equally hard/easy to get - you need fair credit.

They’re all about equal, if you want a repair shop’s credit card. But you should think about getting a general card, like Discover Secured or Cap 1 Quicksilver, instead. You can use it for anything and you’ll get better rewards.
