The back and forth with their customer services went on, and I got so exasperated that I was forced to pay the balance of $1,500, expecting that they would remove the interest charges. They did not. According to them, I paid the balance after the 6-month period had elapsed. I told them there was a discussion ongoing; that's why. Another round of exchanges resulted in an agreement that they proposed. The partner shop should call and confirm that they wrongly charged me for the 12-month no-interest payment, and after confirming this, they shall work back and remove all the interest charges due to me. The car shop did, but Synchrony only removed the penalties and not the interest. Currently, the shop has called them, but the customer service alleged that they cannot do anything. Am planning to file a case vs synchrony.
Late in the week, I attempted to pay my monthly amount but struggled with issues on the web page. I called Synchrony Bank and ended up paying over the phone using my personal credit card. Two days ago, I noticed that I had a duplicate payment and canceled one of the payments.
I received a notification to contact Synchrony Bank when I went to my Amazon account. I did call Synchrony Bank, and I was told that they are permanently terminating my Synchrony Bank account due to rejected payments, one for the earlier hacked account, and the latter for the duplicate payment. I explained the situation, but they would not reinstate my account.
My credit rating has always been in the high 700s and low 800s! I will not recommend Synchrony Bank to my family and vast network.
Synchrony Bank customer service is the worst I have ever encountered in my last five decades. And Synchrony Bank, just in case you do not know what a decade is, 1 decade is 10 years, thus, 5 decades is 50 years (5x10=50), so you do not have to take out your calculator.
Good riddance!
