The best credit card for a gym membership is the U.S. Bank Cash+® Visa Signature® Card because it gives 5% cash back on purchases in two categories that you get to choose, and gym memberships are eligible. You can also get an initial bonus and a 0% introductory APR, and you won’t have to pay an annual fee.
To qualify for 5% cash back on gym memberships with U.S. Bank Cash+, you’ll have to activate “Gyms/fitness centers” as one of your cash back categories every quarter. Additionally, the 5% cash back rewards are limited to the first $2,000 in combined purchases in your two chosen categories every quarter. If you prefer a simple rewards structure, consider a flat rate rewards card such as the Wells Fargo Active Cash® Card, which offers 2% cash rewards on purchases, with no limit on how much cash rewards you can earn.

U.S. Bank Cash+ Visa or Wells Fargo Attune. Both are excellent. Neither will run or lift for you though - that part’s on you!

If you're just looking for basic cash back on gym fees, the US Bank Cash+ is probably your best bet - you can select gym memberships as a 5% category (up to $2,000/quarter). The Citi Custom Cash also works if your gym is your top monthly expense (5% on up to $500). Neither has an annual fee, so they’re easy to keep long-term.

I have the Attune card, and I definitely recommend it. If you care about things like the environment and your pets in addition to your body/health, it’s excellent.
