Do business for some time, always pay on time with the same payment source, and they put a hold on my credit. Never late and always on time. Bad business. Can put a small business in a bind, and they literally don't care.
Never apply for a Home Depot credit card. I don't know who did, but I tried calling to straighten it out, and nobody ever returned my calls. I'm not happy with them; it was terrible and decreased my credit score, and I don't know what to do.

Totally incompetent credit card management. I have an HD cc, and when doing a simple email address change, ALL personal information must be entered. The problem is they do not provide enough space for more than 11 characters in a person's last name. So, updating my account resulted in a new card being issued with one letter missing in my name. Then, I started receiving offers from other CC companies missing the last letter as well. I spoke to several customer service representatives, and nothing was fixed on the website. I finally filed a CFPB complaint, with Home Depot once again not fixing the root cause, only my account. So, if I ever need to change information, the same thing will happen.
I even received an individual email from some HD executive office explaining their resolution. What a joke. In my opinion, the whole HD credit card company is beyond incompetent.
Citi Bank's Credit Card department is terrible. After having a department credit card for several years, one with multiple complete payments and some special finance payment plans, Citi Bank closed my account. I had no significant credit changes, late payments, and actually had an increase in income. During this process, as the amount on the card was under special financing, Citi Bank changed my interest rate and the terms of the special finance deal. After spending many days and several hours on hold, I was told that Citi Bank does not have accurate information on my account to discuss any specifics regarding the change or closure. Even through escalations, no answers were provided. I can only assume they needed to reduce the credit offered as their financial standing has changed. Their representatives were unable to give me any information regarding my account beyond a few months. The entire process seems a little unorganized. I will be cancelling all Citi Bank accounts and credit services. Please consider the quality of their customer service when shopping for credit services.

I have great credit according to most of my banks, and I make great money, in my opinion, compared to other people who work for a living. I have a really cheap house payment and tons of credit cards, most of which are under 50% utilization. Sam's Club offered me $5,000 the same week that I accepted an offer from Citibank, assuming it would be for a comparable limit to my other cards, like $5,000 or $6,000. But no, they offered a $500 card. What person who has cards up to $9,100 limits is going to want a $500 credit limit? If you use it at all to carry a balance, it lowers your score a significant amount (24-point drop), what a joke.
I planned to take advantage of the balance transfers at zero percent interest for 21 months, and then I found out the limit at the end. Who transfers a balance from any card with all that hassle for less than $500? I will probably close this card immediately after I am done writing this review. I may give them one chance to fix it since the whole reason I got the card was to transfer a $3,800 balance from a card that just raised their interest rate and changed the terms on purchases to unacceptable terms.
I have learned about the cards that charge you from the date of purchase instead of from the time it appears on a statement. You have to read the terms, as they are not all created equal, and if you have poor credit, Capital One is the only bank worth dealing with. Take the secured card, use it to fill your gas tank once per month, and set it on auto-pay, and in 6 months, your credit score will increase by at least 50 points. I have a 705; it was 729 when I applied for this card, and my debt-to-income ratio is excellent. They are making a Cra cra
Like others have said, they have the worst customer service. Good luck trying to talk to anyone; and if you do, they won't be able to do anything.

I genuinely hope someone with real influence at Citi takes a hard look at the unacceptable customer service culture that has developed here. When customers are paying annual fees as high as $695, the bare minimum should be professionalism, empathy, and a friendly, humble approach. Instead, the experience feels dismissive and indifferent, as if Citi assumes customers won't leave no matter how they're treated. That mindset is a major mistake. I hope this review reaches someone who can make meaningful changes, because the current state of service is far below what any cardholder should expect.

The Home Depot Credit Card is very useful due to the 12-month or 24-month deferred interest rate. However, dealing with the CitiBank system is a veritable nightmare. I used to be able to call up and talk to a live person prior to a large purchase to obtain a 24-month promotional rate. That is no longer possible. I was forced to have a Home Depot Associate call CitiBank using Home Depot's secret telephone numbers to reach a live person. Then, I was able to get my 24-month promotion. Later, when I called HD Credit customer service's general number to increase my credit limit, the CitiBank phone system rerouted me to the CitiBank HD website to search for a non-existent "Increase Credit Limit" link. I was unable to talk to a live person until after arguing with the AI running the CitiBank phone system, when I was finally connected to a live person.
Are the Home Depot executives paying any attention to CitiBank's poor customer service? How many customers have abandoned Home Depot and gone elsewhere due to the difficulty in dealing with these issues?
Forever for balance transfers, opening, 21 days? So why really bother with this card when there are such excessive delays? No US service, all in the Philippines as well, so not preferred.
I applied for and received this card and have had it for about three months. It is by far the worst credit card I have ever had. I have a credit score of right around 800 and a seven-figure income. In truth, I only got this card because I am traveling a lot on American Airlines and figured I could use it to get perks. When I received my first statement, I paid it off in full electronically. I looked at the app, which showed a zero balance, and I confirmed with my banking app that it had been paid. The next time I went to use the card it was declined for insufficient funds. When I called them, they said they had put a hold on my card because I made a large payment and it was held for over 8 days. I let it go and waited the 8 days. The next time I looked at my statement, I again paid off the entire balance electronically, and the same thing happened. I called in once more and was told the same story. Finally, the third time it happened, I called in and was told the same thing. I think they want you to make minimum payments so they can charge the high-interest rate, so I told them to cancel it and will be flying with other airlines to the same destinations. I advise staying away from this card.
After 31 years of being a customer of Citibank, with an over 800 credit score, and having never bounced a check, I have had it with Citibank! Some people in upper management must lack common sense. The issues I have with them are too numerous to list. In fairness, though, the staff at the local branches are great! It's the decisions made by upper management that I can no longer deal with. Goodbye, Citibank!

Stay away from there! Customer service is not helpful. I made my payment two weeks ago and still am not able to use the credit. They are not to be trusted. They dropped the available balance and hurt my credit. They always say there's nothing they can do.

This is the worst credit card you can ever have. I got my first credit card in 2023, and they increased my credit limit very quickly in one and a half years to $11,000. Of course, I am very responsible with using and paying my credits, but now these people decreased my credit line from $11,000 to $2,600 without any reason at all. I have always been compliant, paying the card with a lot more than the minimum payment, and from that available credit of $11,000, my balance never went above $2,500 for more than one month. They didn't even notify me in advance about the decision to decrease the available balance, and when I called, nobody was able to give an explanation. They just kept saying that they didn't make the decision. In fact, my total credit line dropped by almost $9,000 and messed up my credit, and nobody had an explanation for that. The letter I received just said that the decision was made based on an Equifax credit report, but in reality, I don't have negative reports, missing payments, or any delinquencies on my credit report from anyone. Anyway, think a thousand times before getting a credit card from these people... they are horrible, and their customer service is great when you call to make payments but for anything else, it is awful.
